AfreSHeet put to the Deal or Dud test

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Moms, how often do you think your kid going away to college will wash his sheets? Probably not as often as you’d like.

This edition of Deal or Dud shows a product that just might help. It’s a fitted sheet with peel away disposable layers.

FOX8 On Your Side Consumer Reporter Melissa Painter puts AfreSHeet to the Deal or Dud test.

A Start-Up Lets College Students Skip Washing Their Sheets

The Pitch: Many college students loathe having to wash and change their bedsheets, but because their beds serve many purposes — as a couch, a kitchen table and a study desk, to name a few — those sheets can get pretty dirty. Afresheet makes a fitted, disposable, 100 percent recyclable bottom sheet.

Its design, for which a patent application has been filed, includes seven peel-away layers. The sheets come in one size — twin extra long, the standard size for dorm mattresses.
